The title, "Property of a Gentleman," comes from the name used to announce select sales in English antique auction catalogues that I collected in the early 1980's. I was very attracted to the simplified forms of objects on seamless backgrounds in these catalogues, mostly furniture and silver. Later I found myself interested in these forms as the basis for my explorations in digital imaging where I reconstructed graphic elements into a painterly picture plane using new forms, lines, spaces and colors. The pictures in this portfolio are available in editions printed on aluminum panels in sizes from 16"x20" to 40"x50".
