As a photographic artist for 50 years, I am an explorer of my environment and my media, searching for images that fulfill my creative curiosities. This quest for images that are aesthetically resolved and offer an insight beyond the surface impression of the everyday has become a sustaining life pursuit. For me, there are two branches of picture-making: additive and subtractive. In the additive arena, I combine previously unrelated picture elements to make a new visual equation. In the subtractive arena, images are distilled to altered basic formal elements. Sometimes these two areas can intersect.
